THE END 2015

XXXXXXXXXX

FINALLY LE WEEKEND- interlopers....& miscellaneous....

Representing SWRC!

& Finally it happened to me/us

Or to continue the sing song ' what have you done today to make you feel proud la la la'
Following summary by Marian Williams:
......
We made it from Ile
de Re to Villebrumier. 500 gruelling kilometers. Minimum temperature 90 - maximum temperature 105. Upon arrival we learned that some Tour de France riders pulled out of the tour because of the intense heat. Pah! We started as 10 cycling ladies and finished as 10 cycling ladies #justsaying. Thanks must go to Judith and Helen for plotting the route and booking all the superb accommodation. Our trip turned out to be a festival of gastronomy and sumptuous settings. Thanks in addition to Helen, Ali and Glen who provided an oasis in the desert for our final stay. Thanks to Kate for ensuring our start from the Ile de Re went without a hitch. Thanks to Fran who led the way up the climbs motivating us to follow her lead. Thanks to Sal whose words of encouragement rang in our ears as she sped up the climbs on her white tank which weighs more than she does!! Thanks to Katie for her support in the intense heat, offers of tums and suitable attire for the heat wave. Thanks to Gill for risking a dunking in the canal ensuring that the over heating ladies were kept cool with wet head muslins. Thanks to Anne whose optimism always inspires and also for not checking out the taxis from Agen! Thank you to Jules for your gentle support and never ending bag of almonds!! Garmins and girls - bring on 2016

We should be lying down somewhere in a cool restful place- (Michel Tramas place springs to mind)- not pedaling hell for leather!!
Moving out...

LUNCH TIME-FOOD FOOD FOOD

Surprise surprise- an amazing lunchtime stop- just happened across the Bistro Constant- the chef is a judge on French Master Chef!!

DAY 5 Friday- Last Day....

Boo hoo last day on the road....we are now the 'Sorry bottom girls' ha! Nether regions in need of some recovery time- to coin a phrase, even the Rose has not reached those parts other wines can't reach.
So back to the canal, hoping for a cooler day and an easy run home... Well Helens house!
