Absolutely Finally

Cont. ride to Le Havre

....an easy 15-20 miles, approx ride time 2hrs....???
Well you'd think so but oh no, enormous bridges, N roads with mahusive Lorries and confused Garmin directions was recipe for long, scary and frustrating last outing.
At one point we were so determined to get of scary road we took an over grown grassy pathway that led precisely to nowheresville- turned round back to scary road.
I don't think any of us have cycled as fast in our lives, but we lived and made it to boat with 15 mins to spare.
A couple of bottles of wine later and food, and all was well with the world. A little snooze for some (you know who you are), 2 hours with Jason Bourne and blighty was in sight.
Mission 'Normandy Swiss Alps' completed & all riders returned in one piece!

The other side of the Bridge

Leaving Honfleur for Le Havre

Easiest time ever getting out of a town! Piece of cake....
However 20 miles took us a looong time beginning with-
THE BRIDGE
We didn't find any dead bodies mid way but we were afraid we wouldn't get ourselves across it!
It is:
a) steep as ....
b) the lorries/juggernauts travel at 100+++mph & they are huge
c) the cycle lane is just about wide enough for a child's scooter - without the child!!
Group decision- to hike over cycle - took ages- hot, bothered, frustrated but
ALIVE!!!!πŸ˜œπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜πŸ˜‰
